A photo exhibition entitled “From Van Lang capital city to Thang Long-Hanoi” opened in Viet Tri city, the northern midland province of Phu Tho on September 30.

The exhibition is jointly held by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Hanoi and the local Party Congress.

The month-long event display 150 photos selected from documentary photos of VNA and Phu Tho province.

In the spotlight are photos of President Ho Chi Minh in Phu Tho, which include the one capturing the moment President Ho was talking to Tien Phong (vanguard) Brigade at Gieng Temple before the troupe left for Hanoi to take over the capital city in 1954.

There are also photos of Vietnam’s capital cities in different period of development.
