Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung and representatives from relevant ministries and agencies paid a working visit to Tra Vinh province on July 27.

At a meeting with local authorities, the Deputy PM praised Tra Vinh’s achievements in the first six months of this year and asked the province to mobilise all resources for agricultural production and rural development.

He asked the province to accelerate the implementation of infrastructure construction projects, pay special attention to human resources development, maintain political security and social order, and intensify poverty reduction efforts, especially for the Khmer ethnic group.

After the working session, Mr Hung made a fact-finding tour of the construction sites of the Duyen Hai Power Plant and Quan Chanh Bo canal. These are two major national projects which are expected to get off the ground late this year.
