Fetilizer imports on the rise
VOV.VN - Vietnam imported 2.01 million tons of fertilizers valuing at US$547 million in the first five months of this year, up 32% in volume and 24% in value against the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The imported fertilizers were Urea, NPK, SA, DAP and Kali which came from China, Russia, Indonesia, Canada, Japan and some other countries.
China remains Vietnam’s key fertilizer supplier although imports from the market has dropped as from last year.
As the import of fertilizers has increased sharply, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has decided to initiate a safeguard duty investigation into DAP fertilizer imported from different countries into Vietnam.
