The eight-stage 974km race has drawn the participation of 100 cyclists from 20 teams across the country.

The route runs through provinces in the Mekong River Delta with the final stage in Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province, on August 20.

The event, which is organised by the Dong Thap Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is now a national cycling tournament, aiming to develop an interest in sports nationwide.
