The Vietnam Fatherland Front chapters in the provinces of Nam Dinh, Bac Giang and Lai Chau held the first consultation round to discuss the composition and number of candidates for the upcoming 12th National Assembly election on February 22.

Nam Dinh has nine candidates, including six candidates living and working in the province. In its first consultation round, 19 candidates have been nominated for the NA election, including one self-nominated candidate.

In a democratic, open and highly responsible manner, Bac Giang has nominated 22 candidates for the election, including 14 candidates representing 10 provincial districts and towns, five candidates from the province and three others from the centre. Of these candidates, 11 are female and 9 from ethnic minority groups.

In Lai Chau, the number of nominated candidates in the first consultation round will treble the number of official candidates, representing the province’s professional structure and the ratio of female candidates will account for 50 percent.
