A fund for developing science and technology will be officially launched in 2007, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The fund aims to give full or partial non-refundable assistance to scientific and technological activities proposed by either organisations or individuals.

Starting up with VND200 billion from the state budget, the fund will be supplemented annually to assure its regular flow of capital. It will also mobilise money from other sources such as donations by organisations or individuals, and profit-making applications of scientific and technological research.
