The Hanoi Association for the Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin organized a meeting on August 8 to mark Day for Agent Orange Victims with the participation of more than 150 AO victims in the city.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang highly appreciated the association’s efforts in assisting the victims to overcome their physical pains for a better life.

She said that since 1998, the city’s fund in support of AO victims has given aid worth VND6 billion to thousands of the victims. As many as 2,212 are currently enjoying monthly state subsidies.

160 gifts worth more than VND55 million were presented to AO victims at the meeting.

Hanoi is home to over 7,000 AO victims, according to Tieu Van Man, head of the association.
