A safe water supply station was inaugurated on May 14 in the southern province of Kien Giang with a capacity of supplying drinking water for 2,300 inhabitants of the remote district of U Minh Thuong.

 

The US$200,000 project, co-financed by Kien Giang province and the Australian Government, was designed to produce 250cu.m of safe water a day.

 

In addition to the water plant, new latrines were built for two schools in the region.
