The maintainance of national unity bloc would help the country overcome all difficulties, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

President Triet made the statement while he attended the national unity festive day in Tao Phu village, Tam Hong commune, Yen Lac district, in the northern midland province of Vinh Phuc on November 9.

Mr. Triet expressed his pleasure at the development of Tao Phu village, which contributes to the development of Tam Hong commune, Yen Lac district, the province and the country as a whole.

The State President attributed the village’s development to timeless efforts by local authorities and people in the spirit of mutual assisatance.

Upholding its tradition of national unity, Vietnam has won independence and made great achievements in national construction, he said.

On the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (Nov. 18), President Triet applauded the mass organisations actively engaging in the two movements: “All Unite for Building a Cultural Lifestyle in Residential Quarters” and “Day for the Poor”.

Tao Phu has been recognised as a cultured village for many years.

Farming has generated an income of VND65 million per ha, increasing annual per capita income to VND23 million. Education and healthcare services for local people have been improved and all roads in the village have been concreted.

Over the last decade, villagers have donated VND100 million to funds for the poor, flood victims and Agent Orange victims.
