Vietnam drawn alongside RoK in women’s football Olympic 2020 Asian qualifiers

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese women’s football team have been placed in Group A in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 Asian qualifying round alongside the Republic of Korea (RoK), Myanmar, and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The draw was announced by the Asian Football Confederation in Malaysia on October 18.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Group B contains Australia, China, Thailand, and Taiwan (China).

Group A’s matches are scheduled to take place in Jeju in the RoK, whilst Group B’s matches will be held in China.

The final round of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 Asian qualifiers is set to get underway between February 3 and February 9, 2020.

The two leading teams from each group will progress to the next round, whilst the two winning teams and Japan will ultimately go on to represent Asia in the women’s football at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The Vietnamese team have scheduled two friendly matches against India in November, before going to Japan to take part in a training camp ahead of their participation in the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines.
