US Ambassador wraps Chung cakes for first Tet in Vietnam

VOV.VN - US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink has been wrapping Chung cakes (square glutinous rice cake) with the guidance of experts at his home in Hanoi, this is the first time he has celebrated the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival in Vietnam.

Materials need to be prepared such as large green leaves known as dong (phrynium placentarium), rice, pork meat, and mung beans. |

He said the intricate process of layering leaves around the Chung cakes was quite complicated, however, he did well and it looked rather pretty. |
This is the first time he has ever made a Chung cake and he seems excited to try the new experience. |
