State Vice President Truong My Hoa received the Special Envoy of the General Secretary of the International Organisation of Francophone Countries (OIF), Ousmane Paye, in Hanoi on May 16.

Mr. Paye said he was impressed by the land and people of Vietnam, saying that OIF General Secretary Abdou Diouf had highly appreciated Vietnam’s important role and contributions to the Francophone community.


Suggestions from Vietnam have been put high on the agenda of Francophone summits, he said.


Vice President Hoa said Vietnam’s participation in IOF has brought the country international prestige, practical benefits and valued experiences.


Vietnam pledges to pay greater attention to economic cooperation among Francophone countries and work towards a united and developed Francophone community, she added.
