Vietnam’s Hoang Long Long An beat Myanmar’s rivals 3-0 at the opening match of the Ho Chi Minh City International Volleyball Tournament - Sting Cup 2008 which kicked off on October 12.
Meanwhile, after winning three consecutive sets (25/22, 29/27, 27/25), Thep Viet (Viet Steel) HCM City, another representative from Vietnam, trounced New Zealand in a match the same day.
Also on the opening day, Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima club eked out a win over Sri Lanka 3-2.
The tournament, which will run until October 19, saw the participation of six teams from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, New Zealand and host Vietnam.
