Boosting Vietnamese-RoK auditing ties

(VOV) - Chief Auditor Dinh Tien Dung has underlined the fruitful cooperation between the State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) and the Republic of Korea’s (RoK) Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI), following their signing of a cooperation agreement in 2007.

While receiving BAI Chairman Kun Yang in Hanoi on November 24, Dung thanked the BAI for helping the SAV successfully host the 42nd Governing Board Meeting of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) in Hanoi in 2010.

The Chief Auditor concurred with the BAI’s recommendations for enhancing the capacity of Vietnamese auditors over the 2013-2016 period through a project funded by the RoK and Vietnamese governments.

The SAV will work closely with the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to accelerate the project, Dung said.

He also expressed hopes that both sides will promote information exchanges about the operation of their respective agencies.

Kun Yang updated his host on the progress of the ASOSAI’s and the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions’ (INTOSAI) operations.

He suggested the SVA and BAI support each other in multilateral forums including ASOSAI and INTOSAI.

Yang also recommended implementing a project to help train Vietnamese auditors during 2013.
