The Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland on December 18 held a ceremony to honour 11 overseas Vietnamese who have been praised by the government for their achievements in building and developing the community as well as organising activities to contribute to their homeland this year.

At the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Hoang Van Nha highlighted the activities of overseas Vietnamese over the past years, especially the establishment of the Vietnamese Association in Switzerland in April.

Nguyen Khanh Kinh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Switzerland said that overseas Vietnamese have a strong desire to preserve and promote national cultural identity in their community and make a practical contribution to their homeland.

He said that there are around 7,000 overseas Vietnamese living in Switzerland who have integrated well in the resident country and been highly appreciated for their diligence.
