More than 40 representatives from Vietnamese associations in Germany meeting in the Vietnamese embassy in Berlin on December 26 discussed how to organize the upcoming “Vietnam Year in Germany - 2010” successfully to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Vietnamese ambassador to Germany Do Hoa Binh announced the agenda of the “Vietnam Year in Germany - 2010” with 17 major activities including an exchange programme for young people from Vietnam and Hessen state, Germany, seminars, sports events, cultural and art activities, Vietnam-Germany Business Forum, photo exhibition and contest.

Mr Binh cited two major events which are the Lunar New Year festival (Tet) in mid-February and Vietnam Cultural and Tourism Week in late August in Berlin’s Alexander Platz Square. Other activities will include puppet shows, photo exhibitions and a film screening to mark 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
