The Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) Society, on October 8, received VND100 million from the northern province of Ha Nam to support Cuban victims of the recent hurricane Gustav and Ike hurricanes.

Earlier on October 7, the Vietnam Railway Corporation donated VND20 million via the VRC to help Cuban people overcome the aftermath of the natural disasters.

By October 8, the relief aid for Cuban hurricane victims has reached nearly VND400 million.

The VRC launched a fund-raising campaign for Cuban hurricane victims on September 26, which will last until the end of this month. Earlier, the organisation allocated US$100,000 from its humanitarian support fund for hurricane victims in Cuba.
