Trinh Cong Son music concert set for late April

A music concert in commemoration of the late musician Trinh Cong Son will take place at the Crescent Lake in Phu My Hung town in District 7, HCMC on April 22.

The concert will take place on a Hue City street named after this famous musician on May 1. The event is organized by his family, Phu My Hung Corp, Thanh Nien Media Corp, and local communication firm Le Bros.

For the fifth year in a row the Crescent Lake in Ho Chi Minh City has been chosen as the site for the music show.

The Trinh Cong Son music concert attracted huge numbers of viewers with nearly 30,000 in 2013 and over 35,000 in each of 2014 and 2015. There was a performance on a song “Noi vong tay lon” (A circle of unity) sung by a group of people.

Entitled “Noi vong tay lon”, the 2016 music show will feature 26 songs to be performed in new styles about the fatherland.

Under the arrangement of director Nguyen Quang Dung and saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan, the event will feature a couple of well-known artists including Thanh Lam, Hong Nhung, Tran Thu Ha, Thanh Bui, and especially Pio X and Soul Music Academy choirs.

The Crescent Lake performance area will be opened from 4 pm for spectators to indulge themselves in music community activities, foods and beverages before the start of the event at 7.30 pm.

Free tickets will be collected at the Crescent Mall in Phu My Hung town in District 7, HCMC from 7 a.m. on Friday (April 15).
