A kind-hearted motorbike service shop owner

Having left his hometown in Ben Tre Province in the Mekong Delta for Ho CHi Minh City at the age of 14, Nguyen Van Phuc has struggled to stand on his own feet.

On May 24, he owns Tan Phuc Map motorbike service shop at 194/196 Pham Hung Street in District 8.

With all the difficulties Phuc has experienced in life, he knows clearly how unlucky people have to struggle to earn a living. This is a motivation for him to welcome underprivileged people, give them motorbike repair skill sets and offer them a place to stay until they master all necessary techniques to open their own motorcycle repair shops.

Le Van Nhieu from An Giang Province has worked at Tan Phuc Map motorbike service shop for three years. He lost one leg in a road accident.

After 28 years in such business, Phuc has trained more than 200 people, many of them physically impaired.

Phuc also runs a class to teach poor children without access to school to read and write. In front of his shop, the kind-hearted man places a box of free bread and a container of free ice tea for passers-by while there is a box of free first-aid medicines inside.

Every day, Phuc and his staff also deliver free lunch to needy people.

Nguyen Van Phuc teaches Vo Thanh Danh, 15, who is physically disabled, to fix a motorbike. He also allows the boy from Dong Thap Province to stay in his house and attend a free literacy class.
Phuc checks a literacy class, which is run by college students.
