The event, organised by the Hanoi People’s Committee and the ASEAN National Committee, was part of a series of activities to mark the 43rd anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (August 8).

Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, vice chairwoman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee said the event demonstrated solidarity among ASEAN member countries and sent a message to the ASEAN Community that Vietnam is committed to actions boosting ASEAN prosperity.

After a music performance, ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea joined members of the ASEAN embassies and throngs of Vietnamese participants in a walk along Hoan Kiem Lake.

On the afternoon of August 8, an ASEAN Cuisine Day took at Trung Nguyen Club at 36 Dien Bien Phu, Hanoi. Visitors enjoyed traditional dishes and music performances from ASEAN countries as well as from Austria, Algeria, China, the Republic of Korea, India, and Pakistan.
