The Joint Economic Commission (SKB) meeting has been held in Indonesia to discuss measures to promote bilateral economic cooperation between Indonesia and Iran.

The meeting on November 25 was co-chaired by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of Indonesia Darmin Nasution and Iranian Minister of Information, Technology and Communications Mahmoud Vaezi.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Nasution stressed the similarities in the two countries’ culture and values, saying that Indonesia and Iran have set up cooperation in economy, education, research, technology and sport.

The countries’ total investment from 2011 to 2014 stood at US$6.3 million with 16 projects. Indonesia is currently seeking to expand cooperation with Iran in energy.
