The board of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery Factory in coordination with Van Oord Investments, the Consultants PMC and Bureau Veritas and the Lung Lo Construction Company officially put the breakwater into use on June 17.

It is the biggest breakwater in Southeast Asia and an important defensive shield to protect projects in the Dung Quat Gulf.

More than 1.5km in length and 10m wide, the top of the breakwater is more than 10m above sea level. It was built by the companies Van Oord and Lung Lo to a design by French companies Tedi South, Apave and Sogreah.
