Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for Sports and Physical Training, Nguyen Danh Thai received the visiting Brunei Prince Darussalam Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah in Hanoi on March 21.

The Brunei Prince, who participated in the 22nd SEA Games in the Billiards-Snooker event in Vietnam in 2003, recalled his good impression of the first South East Asian sports festival held in Vietnam. He confirmed that the festival was organised on a large scale successfully. He also introduced developments in Brunei’s sports sector.

For his part, Minister Thai highlighted Brunei’s integration and its contributions to South East Asian sports. Minister Thai also informed the Prince of the sports achievements Vietnam has recorded to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the sector. Minister Thai said he hopes that Vietnam and Brunei will further strengthen co-operation in sports in the future.

During the reception, the Prince and his entourage watched a performance by top Vietnamese wushu and karatedo artists and attended a party held by the National Committee for Sports and Physical Training.
