As many as 110 athletes from 15 provinces and cities nationwide are taking part in the 2009 Canoeing Championship, which opened in Hanoi on April 12.
They are competing for 30 sets of medals in men’s and women’s single and double events.
According to sports experts, the host team Hanoi with 27 outstanding athletes is likely to take the top place in the championship, followed by rivals from Binh Thuan and Hai Phong.
The competition will run until April 14.
