Ethnic groups in the Mekong sub-region are joining an international weaving festival, which are taking place at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology from January 10-March 13.

Artisans from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, China and Vietnam are performing their traditional weaving techniques at the event.

Craftsmen from three ethnic minority groups in Ba Na, Central Highlands Kon Tum province, Thai in northern mountainous Dien Bien province and Kinh in Mekong Delta Can Tho province, are representing Vietnam at the event, which is part of the Smithsonian Festival 2007 to be held in the US in July.
