Vietnamese woman wins US$14 mln US lottery

(VOV) -Thuan Le, a single mother of four children living in the US, has reportedly claimed her ticket worth US$14 million at the California Lottery's Santa Ana District Office.

A lottery news release describes how Le’s habitual SuperLotto Plus ticket—checked using the self-service machine at the CVS store in Mission Viejo—one day delivered a shock beyond all expectations.

“Tears and near collapse,” Le said. She called her sons to help her fill out the necessary claim paperwork. They initially thought she was joking.

Le said that she usually buys her weekly ticket with a friend who uses the same store. Last week she visited CVS by herself.

She had intended to purchase her usual two Powerball tickets and one SuperLotto ticket but inadvertently inserted an extra dollar into the self-service machine.

The additional SuperLotto ticket bought by that accident had all five winning numbers—5, 33, 25, 46, and 32—as well as the Mega number of 26.

Le’s plans for her winnings include buying a house, travelling, and visiting her parents in Vietnam.
