NA deputies discuss draft land law

The draft revised Law on Land came under scrutiny at the plenary sitting of the National Assembly (NA)’s ongoing fifth session in Hanoi on June 17, presided over by its NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Lawmakers from 43 centrally-governed cities and provinces gave their opinions on the State management of land, planning, leasing, transfer of land use, land reclamation, compensation and resettlement support.

They focused on land registration, home ownership and other assets related to land, pricing, rights and responsibilities of land users, inspection, settlement of complaints and denunciations. 

Earlier, Nguyen Van Giau, a member of the NA Standing Committee cum Chairman of the NA Committee for Economic Affairs, had delivered a report on acquiring suggestions to the alternative draft. 

The sitting was broadcast live nationwide.
