The Vietnam National Textile & Garment Group (Vinatex) and the Fashion Design Institute (FADIN) held the final round of the 2009 Vietnam Collection Grandprix in Hanoi on November 21, which attracted attention of many leading fashion specialists.

On addressing the event, Le Quoc An, president of Vinatex’s board of directors, said that over the past 11 years, the number of finalists at the competition has gradually fallen, which demonstrates the higher demand from the fashion design industry.

He said that the collections in this year’s event have improved considerably compared with previous years, with regard to ideas, materials and designs.

The twenty candidates, including 14 from Ho Chi Minh City and six from Hanoi, came mainly from fashion faculties at universities or colleges.

Six prizes were awarded to the three best collections that belong to Vo Thi Quynh Nhu, Nguyen Manh Ha and Huynh Hai Long.
