ASEAN Family Day was observed in France on July 7 with the attendance of the Paris-based diplomatic corps from ten members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as their relatives.
Various activities were held in Cergy-Pontoise amusement park, about 50km north-west of Paris, including camping, art performance and sports games.
Members of the diplomatic corps also took the opportunity to introduce traditional dishes from their homelands.
Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Dinh Bin said that that ASEAN Family Day aims to promote solidarity and understanding among ASEAN nations in France. The event is of great significance as it was held to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the organization which comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
