Vietnam take second win at world championship
Vietnam beat Azerbaijan 2.5-1.5 in the fifth round match of the FIDE World Women’s Team Championship on June 21 in Russia.
Woman Grandmaster Nguyen Thi Mai Hung rapidly completed her match against Mammadova Gulnar in just 33 points to claim the first win for Vietnam.
WGM Hoang Thi Bao Tram needed a double time to secure the second victory over Mamedjarova Zeinab.
National champion Vo Thi Kim Phung was tied with Mammadzada Gunay.
And in the last game, Luong Phuong Hanh lost Fataliyeva Ulviyya in a 92-move match.
It was the second win of Vietnam at the tournament, following the first one over Egypt.
Vietnam will next play Georgia who lost 0.5-3.5 to China on June 21.
In other matches, India beat Egypt 3-1; Russia tied 2-2 with the US and Poland drew Ukraine 2-2.
