The festival is part of the International Federation of Sports and Cinema (FICTS) Competition’s Sport Movies&TV 2008, which selects the finest TV and film sports themed productions from around the world. The final competition will be held in Milan, Italy, from October 31 to November 5.

The festival has attracted more than 70 entries, including sports news, reports, movies, game shows and even TV commercials from 19 television stations and film companies from Vietnam, Australia, China, Singapore, Romania, Bangladesh and Iran.

The four-day event which is organised by the Vietnam Sport Cinema, Hanoi Television Station and Vietnam Television Technology Corporation offers total prize money of VND200 million and will include a seminar on sports film production. It provides a good chance for local film-makers to exchange skills and experience in an international setting.
