The China-based Midea Consumer Electric Group inaugurated an electrical appliance plant in the Vietnam-Singapore industrial zone in southern Binh Duong province on January 16.

The US$25 million plant is expected to churn out a wide range of electrical household commodities, including rice cookers, electric fans and microwave ovens, with an annual capacity of five million products.

The factory’s products will be geared to not only Asian but also Vietnamese customers.

Midea annually produces 25 million consumer electric fans, ranking first among major groups in the world.
