The Vietnam-European Union Business Forum (VEBF) will make its debut on May 22, said the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

Under an agreement reached between the VCCI and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), VEBF will include the Investment and Trade Promotion Subcommittee, the Labour Issues Subcommittee and the Business Management Subcommittee.

The three subcommittees are expected to help increase trade and investment promotion activities and create chances for enterprises of both Vietnam and European countries to share business management experiences.

The forum will promote direct dialogues between the two sides, put forward solutions to the Government and relevant ministries to attract more investment capital from the EU.

The VCCI and EuroCham have agreed to set up a leading board for the VEBF with 10 enterprise members while they themselves provide only technical assistance. Vu Viet Ngoan, General Director of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, and the EuroCham President will share the VEBF presidency.

The Vietnam-EU business seminar will be held on the sidelines of the inauguration of the VEBF. It will be a good chance for businesspeople to talk directly to representatives of the Governments and relevant ministries of the 25 EU member countries.
