Ice sculpture exhibition at Dam Sen Park

Ice sculpture art from Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in China, has been introduced in many countries.

An ice sculpture exhibition is now available at the Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 10, HCMC, and will last until September 2017.

Experts and artisans from Harbin introduced ice sculpture art to HCMC residents for the first time in 1998. The exhibition was then a very successful one, attracting a large number of visitors.

Since then, the park has hosted 17 ice sculpture exhibitions. Ice works have been beautiful, majestic, splendid, and creative in the eyes of visitors.

“The ice world”: Theme of the 18th ice sculpture exhibition

Featuring “The ice world” as its theme, the 2017 ice sculpture show features 18 ice sculptures of architectures and spiritual cultural symbols in Vietnam and other countries such as Triumphal Arches in France, Lotus Tower in India, Great Stupa in Laos, Basil's Cathedral in Russia, Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia, Au Gang Maitreya, Ben Thanh Market in HCMC, One Pillar Pagoda in Hanoi, and Dragon Bridge in Danang.

This year’s exhibition presents a unique combination of clear crystal and opalescent ice and non-ice art works enhanced by beautiful sophisticated designs at minus 10 degrees Celsius.

Visitors to the exhibition can sit on ice reindeers, go down the ice slide, and take photos with ice cars and Eskimo icehouses. Especially, they can enjoy beverages like hot cappuccino, wines, ice cream, and cocktail-making performances at the bar here at minus 10 degrees Celsius.

Twenty ice sculpture artisans from Harbin and 50 Vietnamese engineers and technicians worked for a whole month to create the ice works. The exhibition covers 2,000 square meters, and needs 750 cubic meters of ice and 2,000 colored lights.

Furthermore, auto lighting systems are installed to help visitors take beautiful photos at the exhibition. It also has UV coat drying system and body temperature conditioned area.

Tickets cost VND40,000 an adult and VND25,000 a child. If visitors buy a package tour of Dam Sen Park, they are entitled to free admission.
