Vietnam greatly values ties with Japan

VOV.VN -The Government and people of Vietnam always place great importance on strengthening relations with Japan, President Tran Dai Quang said during a meeting with Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko in Tokyo on May 30.

President Quang told his host that the Japan trip will usher in a new period of development in the Vietnam-Japan ties towards a more intensive and effective ties, thus delivering practical benefits to people of both sides and for regional and global peace, stability, cooperation and development.

Quang and his wife showed their impression on the Vietnam by the Japanese royal couple in 2017, noting that their visit has helped to deepen mutual trust and understanding between the two countries’ people as a contribution to bringing the bilateral ties to a higher level.

On the occasion, they invited Japanese Imperial Family members to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.

For their parts, the Japanese royal couple held that they treasures the Vietnam-Japan cooperation and friendship and will be at their best to propel the ties forward. 

Japanese Emperor Akihito emphasized that cross- cultural and people-to-people exchanges, particularly during the year both nations are celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations, are of great importance for the development of the bilateral ties as they give extra leverage to mutual trust and understanding.

On May 30 morning, the Japanese Emperor and Empress hosted an official welcoming ceremony for President Quang and his wife.
