National women’s football championships wrapped up

The 2011 National Women’s Football Championships closed in the northern province of Ha Nam on April 9.

The champion title went to Hanoi Trang An I with 12 points after ten matches, followed by Phong Phu Ha Nam with 19 points. Ho Chi Minh City ranked third, also with 19 points.

In the final match, the host Phong Phu Ha Nam defeated Hanoi Trang An II 1-0, gaining three points to secure its second place.

The competition drew the participation of six teams including Phong Phu Ha Nam, Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel, Vietnam Coal and Mineral, HCM City, and Hanoi Trang An I and II.

The top winner received VND150 million in cash prize, doubling last year’s award while the first and second runners-up pocketed VND100 million and VND50 million, respectively.
