“The Star,” which received the golden statuette award at the Pyongyang Film Festival in 2002, will open the fourth annual Russian film week to be held in Hanoi from October 24-28 to mark the 91st anniversary of the October Revolution (November 7).

Three others, “Spartacus and Kalashnikov,” “Kuka” and “We are from the future,” will also be presented during the week.

Le Cong Minh, Deputy Head of the Vietnam Cinematography Department, said that the event will not only give movie lovers a better understanding of Russian culture and cinema, but also offer Vietnamese filmmakers a chance to learn from each others’ experiences in the development of the film sector.

The event will be jointly organised by the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
