The Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology has expressed his hope that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia will further develop in the future for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace and stability in the region and the world.

Minister Hoang Van Phong made the remarks at a reception given by Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Serafimov Vadim Viktorovich in Hanoi on June 9 to mark Russian’s 16th National Day (June 12).


The minister said he believes that the Government and people of Russian Federation will obtain greater achievements.


Meanwhile in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations organised a ceremony to mark the Russian National Day.


Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association Hoang Huu Nghia said that Russia has made positive changes in all sectors, showing the whole nation's strong will to stabilise the political situation and maintain economic growth.


He also shared his view with Russian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City Nikolai Dmitrievich Ubushiev and Russian friends on the remarkable development in the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
