Vietnam treasures ties with Nepal

(VOV) -Vietnam Ambassador to India, Bhutan and Nepal Ton Sinh Thanh has affirmed Vietnam's recognition of high importance on cooperation with Nepal while presenting his credentials to Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav in Kathmandu recently.

President Yadav thanked the Vietnamese government for providing emergency aid to help Nepal overcome the aftermath of the earthquake in April. He said ambassador Thanh presented his letter of credence right on the eve of the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Nepal diplomatic ties and pledged to create the best possible conditions for him to fulfill his task.

Also at this meeting, leaders of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Vietnam and Nepal need to further cooperation by intensifying delegation exchanges and signing cooperative agreements especially on visa exemption for official passport holders.

While meeting with the Vietnamese community in Nepal, the Vietnamese diplomat affirmed that Overseas Vietnamese are an integral part of Vietnam and expressed his hope that Vietnamese people there will continue to make greater contributions to and tun their hearts toward the homeland.

A liaison committee for the Vietnamese Association in Nepal was set up on this occasion.
