The International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) Organic World Congress opened on September 28 in the city of Namyangju in the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The event serves as Asia's first gathering of world organic producers. It is also a symposium that moves from continent to continent every three years, featuring various programs including themed conferences, organic food fairs, and IFOAM general meetings.

The 17th edition of the Organic World Congress, entitled Organic is Life, marks the first time that the symposium is being held in Asia.

The symposium, which runs from September 28 to October 2, attracted more than 1,300 scholars from some 80 countries and about 200,000 visitors from the public.

On the sidelines of the symposium, the city will also host other events such as the G-Food Show and Organic Fair.

On display will be fresh organic produce, organic processed foods, organic makeup, organic fabrics, organic toys, and other goods from all over the world.
