Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos have approved a plan to design the joined-border landmark and a draft agreement on defining the intersection point of the Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos borders.

The agreement was reached during the second round of the tripartite talks held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from August 29-31, to define the exact point where the three countries meet.

They also agreed to draw up a map so as to complete the planting of borderland markers by the end of 2007.

Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the talks was Nguyen Hong Thao, Vice Chairman of the National Border Committee under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
