Leaders of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and authorities of Chuong My district, Ha Tay province on February 23 visited Tram pagoda, where late President Ho Chi Minh read his New Year poem on air 60 years ago.

On behalf of VOV leaders, General Director Vu Van Hien burnt incense at Tram pagoda, where VOV staff installed broadcasting equipment for the first time in 1947.

General Director Hien affirmed that Tram pagoda in Phung Chau commune, Chuong My district, is a historical relic. VOV and Chuong My authorities have cooperated to reserve the relic and turn it into a national historic site.

On this occasion, VOV leaders presented gifts to people in Phung Chau commune.

Tram pagoda is one of 10 sites which VOV staff evacuated to during the resistance war against French colonialists. On lunar New Year’s Eve of 1947, late President Ho visited VOV staff at Tram pagoda and read his New Year poem on air.
