At the meeting Gen. Ty praised the Vice Admiral’s visit which aimed to implement the agreement on bilateral defensive cooperation and the memorandum of understanding on strengthening cooperation, exchanging information, and promoting mutual understanding and trust between the two countries’ naval forces.

The two sides should have closer cooperation in search and rescue, training activities as well as joint patrols on the sea, he said.

The Vice Admiral thanked Gen. Ty for the warm welcome he had received during his stay in Vietnam.
