State President ends visit to RoK

State President Truong Tan Sang and his entourage left Busan on the evening of November 10, concluding their State visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK), before flying to Hawaii, USA, for the 19th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum.

On the last day of his visit to the RoK, State President visited Busan and a number of major Korean business groups in Ulsan and Gumi.

At his meeting with the Mayor Hur Nam-sik of Busan, President Sang expressed his delight at the city’s rapid development, which includes the biggest container port in the RoK, the third largest in the world.

Since Busan and Ho Chi Minh City became twin cities in 1995, they have cooperated effectively in the economics, trade, culture and tourism sectors.

The same day, Mr Sang visited Vietnam’s honorary Consulate General in Busan, and production units of the Huyndai group in Ulsan and the Samsung group in Gumi.

These two corporations have maintained longstanding cooperation with Vietnamese businesses in electronics and mechanical engineering, and have also run businesses effectively in Vietnam.

On the occasion, Mr Sang witnessed the signing of a document on transferring technology between Huyndai and Vietnam’s Truong Hai automobile group.
