The fourth National Fencing Championships opened at the Sports Hall in the northern province of Hai Duong on September 13, attracting nearly 100 fencers nationwide to compete in foil, epee and sabre events.
The athletes, who have the best records in domestic and international competitions, will take part in group qualifying rounds and knockout rounds for individual events and knockout rounds only for team events.
After the opening ceremony, individual gold medals went to Tran Thi Len (Hai Duong province) for the women’s epee, and Bui Van Thai (Hanoi) for the men’s foil.
