Seventy-one cyclists from 16 women cycling teams, including three from Kazakhstan and Malaysia, began the first stage of the National Cycling Tournament to compete for the An Giang Television Cup in the southernmost city of Ca Mau on July 8.

Thirteen domestic teams come from provinces and cities of An Giang, Kien Giang, Can Tho, Binh Duong, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hoa Binh. 


Cyclists are competing in seven stages running through Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, An Giang and Kien Giang with a total length of 565km. 


In the first 35km stage around Ca Mau City, Pham Thuy Lien from Domesco Dong Thap came first, clocking a time of 54’27”.   


The tournament will end on July 14.
