Lomonosov primary school became the 10th partner school of Germany in Vietnam at a signing ceremony in Hanoi on November 10.

As one of the Germany’s partner schools, Lomonosov will receive material support to expand teaching of the German language.

Head of the school Nguyen Phu Cuong said Germany has equipped the school with modern foreign language teaching rooms and learning materials. The pupils will also have chance to learn with native German-speaking teachers.

They may also attend international tests conducted by the Goethe Institute and students over 16 who pass the Test DaF will be eligible to study in Germany.

The school partnerships were an initiative of Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Germany’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the aim of creating a network of schools teaching German around the world and encouraging young people to show their interest in German society.

The idea has been implemented in more than 1,500 schools worldwide. Seven schools in Hanoi and two in Ho Chi Minh City have been member of the network.
