Vietnamese athletes win three golds at Thailand Open
Vietnamese athletes won three gold medals on the third day of competitions at the Thailand Open Track and Field Championship on June 14 in Bangkok.

Le Tu Chinh secured her second gold here after winning in the women’s 200m event with a time of 23.52sec. She ran 0.08sec faster than Singapore’s Veronica Shanti Pereira who triumphed at the SEA Games in 2015.
Chinh recently grabbed the first gold for Vietnam in the 100m class.
She is expected to score a hattrick of wins when she competes in the 4x100m event on June 15.
Nguyen Hoai Van won the first title in the men’s javelin event with a throw of 72.26m, setting a new national record. The old record of 69.07m was made by Nguyen Truong Giang in 2011.
Van’s result was also better than that of Hussadin Rodmanee of Thailand (70.96m) who won a silver medal at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games two years ago.
The second title went to Do Quoc Luat in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase. The national champion completed his race with a time of 9min 12.89sec, leaving his rivals far away with a six-second gap.
It was his second gold in Thailand as he earlier triumphed in the 1,500m event.
Vietnam also pocketed a silver on June 14 by Nguyen Thi Hang in the women’s 400m hurdle.
