The Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and the online newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam held a press briefing in Hanoi on August 10 to introduce the second “Enterprises in integration and development” awards ceremony.

The aim is to honour Vietnamese businesses that improve their economic efficiency and competitiveness in the process of international economic integration. 119 businesses were awarded the first time in 2007.

The organizing board said that this year’s candidates include businesses from all economic sectors such as State-owned enterprises, joint stock companies, limited companies, individual businesses, co-operatives and joint ventures. The awards will be given in four major categories: industry, agriculture, services and other products, according to the four following criteria: technology, environment and quality management, product competitiveness, business trademark building and business culture development.

It is expected that the awards ceremony will take place in February 2009.
