Science Film Festival to be held nationwide

(VOV) - The second Science Film Festival will take place across 11 cities and provinces in Vietnam from November 8-30.

Thai Mai Lan, a representative from Germany’s Goethe Institute, said the event this year will feature 20 films from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Thailand, the Phillippines and the UK, focusing on the theme of water.

Those films aimed at younger audience aged between 6-18 will also have Vietnamese voice-overs, Lan noted.

In addition to the films, other activities include experiments, discussions on water and games are expected to provide a chance for young people to gain more skills and knowledge about natural science values, and how they apply to daily life in a sustainable world, said Do Van Nguyet, Director of the Live&Learn Vietnam organisation.

The festival is held in parallel with other science film festivals throughout the Southeast Asia.

Last year’s Science Film Festival in Vietnam attracted 17,700 participants.
